There is more than a similarity with Achocha leaves but the plant is such a sprawling/climbing thug that nobody confuses the two...  :-X

I was gutted.
Tried to grow some weed and ended up with delicious cherry toms instead...   ???

It's an easy mistake to make!  :P

I'm a hippy, I look like a hippy and smell like a hippy. I grow peppers and tomatoes under grow lights in my bedroom window, you can't see the plants from outside, just the grow lights. I've been waiting for the police to turn up, as of yet it hasn't happened.

I had it many years ago with Dahlias - police came round to check them out.

Scientists at local research station grew hemp last year in a field right next to the road.  All sorts of fun for them and the police with people thinking it was wacky baccy.

My grandmother had a patch of hemp come up where she feed her birds, the older lady next door asked what the lovely plants were.

I have a solicitor friend who, at the weekend, also looks and smells like a hippy. He had a minor sense of humour failure when, at six one Sunday morning, the local police decided to kick his front door in to investigate his reported "canabis plantation".  (i.e. The chillies kept under lights, in plain sight, in his greenhouse.  ::) )

Personally, anyone who wakes me up abruptly is a legitimate target for verbal abuse (and possibly also a legitimate target for my bedside glass of water), how he maintained composure is a mystery to me.  :o
