Memorial Plant
« on: August 27, 2009, 17:38:57 »
Hello everyone, sorry I've not been around much lately.  Everything's been a bit manic and we've had some bad news to deal with.  Our 3 year old springie spaniel Ruby was diagnosed with liver and spleen cancer and sadly had to be sent on her way today.  The reason for this post is because we'd like to find an easily obtainable plant, that can cope with a confined space with the name Ruby in it as a tribute to our lovely girl.  If you know of anything, me and the kids would very much appreciate it.  I'm sorry I'm not posting in happier circumstances, but hopefully I will be soon.

Thank you for that.  It'll be the only plant she never managed to kill! She was a minx to say the least, lots of happy memories.

There's 3 pages of different 'Ruby' plants here.  You will probably be able to get them cheaper elsewhere but it might help for choosing.

Sorry to hear you lost Ruby at such a young age.

Thanks Ceres, there are some lovely ones on there, we're going to get some ideas and then go round the garden centres on the weekend.

So sorry to hear that you lost your doggy freind.
Its so hard, the house seems so quiet.
Hope that you find a new companion to help you through missing your freind.

So sorry too, to hear that Posie.  We have 5 roses in the garden for our best friends.  Sweet Dreams, Sweet Memories amongst them. Our lovely last dog was called Wrinkles and had such a problem choosing something for her.

Thank you all.  We still have Hamish our other springie, although he's looking a little lost this evening.

We chose a patio rose called Ruby wedding.  It's short, prickly and has attitude - just like our girlie  :)

Hi Posie. Sorry to here about Ruby. Pets get deep into your heart don't they.
The rose you have chosen is lovely.
