.... and we're off!

This comes up from time to time... My preferred suggestion is to get a cat.

Same problem with cats here. I found the only way to stop them (humanely) is to feed them - just meat scraps under a bush will do, they don't mess where they eat.

Can you set up a cat litter tray? Would they prefer this to your beds?

Have you tried 'Silent Roar'? It's sold as a fertilizer; however, the pellets contain traces of lion dung which allegedly deters cats. I was given a sample and it has certainly done the trick, some cats still wander through the garden but they no longer leave deposits.

Rosebud, if you mean Renardine, it's approval was revoked in 2005 and it became illegal to use it after 30 June 2005.

Get one of these

That little nozzle on the front is for using it like a spud gun. Make sure the neighbours see you using it. They will think you are shooting pellets and will keep their pets out of your garden.

No it ain't cruel, you will never hit a side of a barn with one of these let alone a moving target. But you watch those moggies up and run when they hear the crack of it going off.
