Planting apple trees near fruit bushes

How close could I plant apple trees (M9) to my rows of gooseberries and black currants?

Apples have a root spread of about 5 feet - I wouldn't put the tree closer than 4 feet - stem to stem.  In reality, you'll probably measure from the widest part of the fruit bushes (so that you can move around them) so I don't think this would be an issue.

Hope that helps
