I came back from holiday to find several things in my garden suffering scorch - half of a smoke bush, a winter jasmine and an acer, we must have had heavy rain and then sunshine I think.  They look very sad but will be fine next year.  I hope that is what you have Tim, interesting it is mainly the tips of the leaves.

Scorch? Sunshine daily?? Well, you could be right - the leaf shape collects water?

Indoors, of course. 99% of the plant is fine.

My blight started like that and it was on the plant under the roof opening where the rain dripped in.........thats if it really was blight.I defoliated anyway just in case!
