My chillies are a bit wimpy...
« on: August 11, 2009, 11:11:00 »
I am growing Jalapenos for the first time this year and although I seem to have a pretty good crop going in the greenhouse they are just a bit tasteless and really not even slightly hot! There are probably 15 fruits per plant and most are about 3" long and quite firm and crispy.

Is this normal when growing chillies in Scotland (even though we've actually had a good amount of sun this year  :)), am I not letting them ripen enough (and how do you know?) or is there something else I am missing...

I think that Jalapenos get hotter as they ripen.
