You connect your VCR to your Pc using a connection box and then write from your
Pc to DVD. I have one from pinnacle.

You can also get all-in-one gadgets (VHS player to DVD writer in one box)

Its quite simple but time consuming.

What equipment have you got at the moment eg, home dvd recorder, pc with dvd recorder and video in, video editing software?
How much are you willing to spend?
Do you want menu's or one dvd for each video?

Depending on your equipment a macrovision disabler maybe required.

Something like these would be easiest if you do not have any equipment...http://www.maplin.co.uk/search.aspx?MenuNo=11752&MenuName=DVD%20&%20VCR%20Recorders&worldid=10&FromMenu=y

Something to get you thinking ???

as nilly71 has pointed if your vids are commercial then you will not be able to copy them direct to dvd as the macrovsion protection will prevail.

If you are computer literate then summat like this is your best bet - v similar to hippydave's http://www.tvstick.co.uk/products/productinfo.asp?catid=2&prodid=22&gclid=COPUlIHP_ZoCFZgU4wodWTnBrA

I have a conversion kit in the form of a usb dongle you use to connect the vcr to a pc. It uses 'Ulead Video Studio' software to process the vcr video into an MPEG file that you can then transfer to DVD or play on the PC. This particular software is a bit of a fiddle and seems to need precise settings to make a good DVD, but it does a good job.

I not only use it to convert VCR recordings but after the DVD part of my HDD/DVD recorder went wrong I also use it to tranfer HDD recordings as well. I dont know if there is better software out there that will work with the same system, if there is i would be interested to know.
