Topic: Leeks

Have grown some leeks from seed in modules and they haven't moved in the last few weeks. They are still very thin and only a few inches tall. Would it be advisable to throw them away or take a chance and plant them out?

I don't know the answer but I've just planted out some very small leek seedlings, better to try than throw them. Good luck.

Plant them out.  If nothing else you will still be able to eat baby leeks.  (Which cost a fortune by the way).  It is surprising how fast things shoot off when put in their final growing position.

I  sowed mine last year too thickly and got thin, insipid leeks, though they did give a harvest in due course.

This year I thinned mine out and gave them some bindweed tea.

What a difference!

Mine seems for to come to a standstill for what seemed like ages, so i planted them out and now have quite a few that are starting to look like leeks

Get them planted! they will soon get going once they are in the right environment..........in the soil outdoors!

So that's what to do with all my bindweed!  Do i just bung it in a bucket of water for a few weeks then?

Yes. Put something heavy on top to sink it, and it'll drown and rot merrily.
