coming from the west indies you won't hear me complain about the heat at all 8) ;D but my garden really needs a drink and my butts are dry, so its off to water with a big sun hat on to stop me burning.

1976 was A-level year for me!
We could certainly do with one of these thunderstorms they keep talking about. Even the soil under the spuds is really dry and all we've had is 5 minutes spitting in the last week.

Oh yes there is.

We have had a nasty "pong" around the garage/utility/back door for the last couple of days, difficult to pinpoint.  Sort of fishy smell.  So we removed the bowl of mussel shells I had in the garage (which didn't smell in any case) and it persisted.

I just went to the freezer in the garage to get some icecream, and the smell was really strong - around the freezer.  Took a couple of seconds to find it -

LAST FRIDAY I bought some coley steaks for the cats - put them on the top of the freezer and forgot to put them inside.  They were smelling and DRIPPING - dripped all over me, and the floor, and everywhere stinks now. Urgh  :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Poor cats never got their coley.

 Its nice to see all the young ladies wearing their summer outfits, especially after they've got soaked in a thunderstorm - or am I just a perv ? :-[ :-[ :-[

Is perv-ing from a Clapham omnibus against the law, even if I'm ignorant ?

We had one of those in this comp/cloak room a couple of years ago...
We finally tracked it down to a chicken breast OH had bought and left in her coat pocket for about a month...  :P

Well its set to continue according to this:

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/4/20090701/tuk-britons-braced-for-record-temperatur-dba1618.html

Although have to say, its a bit grim in Pembrokeshire this morning, looks like its threatening rain and the temp has dropped quite a bit.

How can any gardener not want rain ???

Its bone up here.It rained in the early hours....if you can call it rain...just a spot really.I was on my plot just after 6am with my hosepipe and gave most things a very good drenching.

We are desperate for some of this;

We had the worst flood in many years last Saturday. Why can't it spread itself about a bit?
