Have I left it too late...
« on: June 13, 2009, 10:29:00 »
Have I left it too late to plant some poatoes.  I have been very disorganised this year and have not planted my potatoes (King Edwards).  They have started to sprout.  I was thinking about putting some in the garden today but didn't want to waste the space if they won't grow!

Thanks

Dibsy

Dibsy - probably too late for King Edwards as they are a main crop and you would be harvesting in november(ish)
They will grow and if you wont use the space for anything else then give it a go but you'd be better off with an early spud whcih has a shorter season.
Moved to Portugal - ain't going back!

Thanks for your reply.  I will probably plant them in that case - it seems wasteful to get rid of them and buy some more.  I will have to try and be more organised next year!

Get them in they should be OK, I planted PFA in June last year so what have you got to lose. If you plant now they should take about 20 weeks so your looking at about week 44, Oct/Nov.      ;D ;D ;D
