Do you mean the poundland one's?

If so i use them for new potatoes(3 in each)

I have also used them for strawberries, by cutting the bottom of a large lemonade bottle and making loads of holes in it, then turning it upside down and filling around it with soil, then cut about 10 slites around the planter and plant the strawberries. Fill the bottle with water every few days.

Neil, this is really interesting! I can't quite visualise  what you mean regards using the bottom of the pop bottle...can you  try to explain a bit more...sorry :)

Take a plastic pop bottle and cut the bottom off (leave the lid on).
Pierce small holes all around the edge( i used a stanley knife and stabed it loads of times) and turn upside down, place this into the middle of the pop up bin and fill around the edges with soil/compost, as the soil dries out water will be drawn into the soil, that why it only needs filling up every few days.
I slite upside down T shapes around the edge of the pop up bin and pushed the young strawberry plants into them. There was also enough room to plant 4/5 plants around the top.
The handles are not strong enough to hang the planters but it does fine on the floor.

Hope this is a bit more clearer, if i get a chance tomorrow i will take pics.

I think I understand, thanks for this. I had got confused and thought the bottle was to be used as a sort of extension for each pocket sliced into bag/with a plant in it. This is a great idea

Some pictures that might help...

I put the bottom of the bottle back on top to stop the soil falling into the bottle.

after our early spuds, we grow dwarf french beans in them, keeps the beans clear of the slugs (well, the non-mountaineering ones)  ;D
