Cavolo Nero v Kale Black Tuscany info
« on: July 02, 2009, 12:47:36 »
Hi Y'all

I expect you experts all know this but I'll go ahead anyway!

Went to the Eden Project - only an hour away for lucky me - last week and was really taken by their veggie plantings near the main cafe, one of which was Cavolo Nero with French Marigolds - looked amazing.  I decided this was for me, but was told in the shop that they did not have any CN, only Kale Black Tuscany (T&M)

Just for info folks, they are one and the same!  So if you're thinking of planting now for salads or overwintering, Kale Black Tuscany is exactly the same as Cavolo Nero, and its a pity T&M don't say so on the packet!

PS:  seeds sown on Saturday were up by Tuesday, mark you temps in the late 80s here and no rain for 2 weeks (raining tho as I type this, relief!)

Caro
