I might be getting my first plot soon, but by the time I've got it ready I think the summer will be over.
Will I be able to grow anything ?, or do I have to wait till next spring ?
oh, I'm a complete beginner BTW :-\

This probably a good time to get an allotment cos you can prepare the ground for next years crops. You can grow broad beans, spring cabbage over wintering cauli.garlic jap onions all planted around October time. nearly forgot. Purple sprouting brocolli.Good Luck Trogg

Also depends on when soon is. You could be growing a few things on the windowsill ready to throw them in. Also if your allotment neighbours are nice they will have things to spare and help you by giving you some extra plants.
You do not have to prepare the whole allotment before you start sowing. I just did a dig and sow process. Everytime I dug a bit of ground I planted something in it.
Growing veg is a year round process you are never too late to be growing something.
