There seems to be more new independents coming out of the woodwork.
The
http://www.juryteam.org
party seem to be the latest.
I'm not too sure about them though, what about you?

I will always vote UKIP in European elections because it is the only party which promises a referendum on whether to leave the EU - a crooked shambles so corrupt that its auditors refuse year after year to approve its accounts, and compared with which even our most dodgy politicians look like boy scouts.
As far as local elections are concerned, most voters have, or ought to have, a fair idea of the worth of what their actually representatives do and can judge them accordingly.

We don't think that any of the present parties are worth voting for. They all seem to be out to line their own pockets. Do we abstain or do we spoil the ballot paper?

There is an article in todays Daily Mail by Peter Oborne a staunch Conservative who says he will not vote for them on Thursday. It has information on the Jury Team and Libertas.
I have received one of Gorden Browns letters apologing for his partys expences. It made more angry to think he wasted money sending these out. Being sorry does not remedy matters.

Good people suffered and died for universal sufferage-to abstain is to insult their memory-if you really cannot decide then spoil your paper

I agree with cleo, a lot of women went to a lot of trouble to get me my vote, and until now I have always used it.
Small choice in rotten apples, springs to mind.

I think that beore the next general election we should form "The Allotment & gardeners party", between us I am sure we could show the shower we have at present a thing or two.

If you can't find someone to vote for in the Euros, you must be very fussy, there's about 20 choices. If you don't vote, you give more power to the BNP (who will be voting), so please give that some thought before throwing away your vote. Their views are absolutely repulsive and all reasonable people should do what they can to avoid giving them any power.
Personally I voted (by post) for one of the main 3 that I am a member of.

I totally agree with Ollie - if you abstain, you increase the percentage vote for parties such as UKIP and the BNP who are making *massive* attempts to increase their votes on June 4th. You might as well vote for them yourself, as spoil your ballot.
I'm voting Green, for existing MEP Caroline Lucas. I would have done anyway, notwithstanding all the recent revelations, which shouldn't be taking anyone by surprise!
You can find out here, who your MEPs are, and how the voting broke down last time round:
http://ukpollingreport.co.uk/blog/
(Click on your area in the 'European Elections' section.)
And here's an overview of the European Parliament and Elections, with more useful links:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/7819889.stm
By the way, here are some interesting statistics I looked up after I got the BNP leaflet through my door, which basically argues that 'we earned the right', at Trafalgar, the Somme, and the Battle of Britain, to 'British Jobs for British People'.
World War I:
Number of Indian troops:
1.4 million
World War II:
Number of Indian troops:
2.5 million - the largest all-volunteer army in history
Number of African troops:
55,000, plus hundreds of thousands of auxiliary troops
Number of Polish pilots in Battle of Britain:
145, responsible for 12% of hits
Number of Poles to fight for the Allies, many with British forces:
2 million
On behalf of my relatives who fought in WW1 & II, and my great-grandfather who died at Paschendaele, I fiercely object to them being used as propaganda for the BNP. Very angrily so!

Sorry, OllieC, I'm not being fussy. Apart from the three main UK parties, the only ones I know of are UKIP, the greens and BNP. So you tell me I have another 14 choices. Well none of them have been canvassing round here, so could you kindly tell me who they are, and what they stand for???
PS, but then I'm not a politically motivated person.

Valmarg, have a look at this page:
http://ukpollingreport.co.uk/blog/
(Click on your area in the 'European Elections' section.)
At the top, are the sitting MEPs - scroll down, the next section is the candidates for June 4th. (I'm not sure how you find regional boundaries if you're not sure which is your area!)

Hi Valmarg. I've sent my list back now (it was the voting slip), but some that stuck in my mind - The Roman Party, Veritas, Liberal something else, Christian something or other... 20 was a guess, just checked with the Mrs, she reckons more like 15 but still plenty of choice...

Maybe there's too much choice now, the vote will be split between them and one of the 3 mains will still get in.
