What an amazing pic gardentg44!

Male wrens will build up to ten nests a year and then invite the wife to choose her residence.

Every year, the second I make my hanging  baskets the wren is eyeing it up and instantly making a home, however although they use it regularly, on most evenings, they never choose to nest their so its really interesting to see your image and see their preferred choice.

What was it exacatly they nested in GG44?

We had some nest in asmall conifer one year but the bottom fell out of the nest. I did try to rescue the one baby but it died .
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

I have a wren which has taken to hopping round me like the robin.  Never had one so close before.  Never seen the nest they seem to like the firethorn.

Lovely picture.

Just been out side to take alook at the wrens.

i was devastated to find them dead on the lawn all six of them.

killed by the gentle cat from the house next door.

things like that make my blood boil, the poor things.

please don't say it only nature.

our i will say the same when the cat gets flattend with a netto lorry >:( >:(

theres got to be some law about cats going into someone elses garden.
or irrisponsable pet owners.
they go away every weekend and let the cat fend for its self
