Topic: Horseradish bolting?

I know most people treat this as a weed but I'm growing a 2year old plant (from rootstock) in a large pot.  Thing is it seems to be giving all the signs of bolting.  Suddenly has produced a long slender stem rather than its normal bushy nature with flower buds on top.  Is this normal?  Should I cut off the bolting stem or do I have to let it run to produce flowers.  My intention is to eventually plant it out in a quiet area of my lottie but want to get it established first.  Any ideas?

the romans used horseradish to hold the sides of roads together, ( like we use willow) any old bit of root with 2 ends will grow!! let it seed if you like, or cut of the flower spike to encourage more root.
the best thing for this thug of a plant is to plant it in a 45 gal drum, you can then just push it over to harvest the roots;)

No idea what sort of weather you have had recently but that does sound as though it got dry and panicked.

Cut the stem off and make sure it remains moist
