Having a few problems :( We tried stapling plastic and then oversealing with the special film repair tape...peeled off yesterday...boy am I disappointed ;( now staples making teeny tears. Any ideas...would gaffer tape secure this?

If in doubt I always use gaffa tape - nice and strong. But someone on here who has had this specific problem may come up with something better

I'd stick gaffer tape on the plastic and staple through it, works better than sticking it over the top.

what I do is either staple it or use drawing pins, then screw some thin pieces of wood over the top

Like Simon says lay your plastic over your frame fix with drawing pins then pin battons or similar size strip of wood to the frame, :)
