chicken manure as soil conditioner
« on: May 18, 2009, 01:13:52 »
I was listening to GQT today and they mentioned how chicken manure works as a soil conditioner. I didn't realise this, I thought it was just good for nutrients due to its small bulk.

I have reasonably heavy loam so I suppose this will make the texture even better. Has anyone any experience of chicken manure improving the condition of their soil, and is this a long term fix?

I can't see it as a long term fix. Only proper compost will do that. I thought chicken manure was almost the natural version of artificial fertiliser, as in tiny amounts or you burn the plants.
