Sound good Roy - we had a similar event planned by our council which we (as new plotters) were v excited about.  Along we went on the appointed day - it was raining but no problem, on went the wellies and waterproofs, a bit of rain wasn't going to deter us, we're allotmenteers after all......got there to find small notice posted at entrance to event location stating 'event cancelled due to inclement weather' !!! We were so disappointed especially our youngest who declared herself to be looking like Farmer Giles in all her outdoor gear! So I hope you have more luck - is it raining this morning?!!
Have fun
Plottie  :)

Oh, Roy, things really are coming to a head - will be thinking of you this afternoon, sending lots of positive vibes to Birmingham.

Well I made it to the open day meet and there were 12 other budding allotmenteers eager to join up, that is more than I imagined. :) (didn't see the guy on the flyer Jesse),
I think most of us put our names down for a plot, we now have to wait for the council to rotovate and spray (or visa versa) then choose our site and away we go.
Still anxiously waiting (Im getting labour pains) :o
I met a guy there that is keen to plant exotics, ;D that will be interesting. 8)

Thanks for the vibes Megan they worked ;)

I'm so glad you had a good time Roy - I kept my fingers crossed for you all afternoon.

When do they think your plots will be ready? exotic does sound interesting. Have they told you of any restrictions etc yet. Mine doesn't allow fruit trees or bushes but does allow fowl and bees :-\

Keep us updated  ;D

Thanks Guys ;D The council secretary will be sending written confirmation during October, maybe Halloween :o that would be nice as it's my Birthday 8) amongst the junk mail will be the rules and regs and one thing I read in previous literature was "no trees" but I doubt they will know a Seedling Canary Island Date Palm from a Carrot :D
