Weird break in
« on: May 06, 2009, 17:51:28 »
One of the other plotholders was broken into overnight.

It was a very bizarre break in, who ever it was carefully removed a pane of glass out of a window frame and climbed in through the window of his glasshouse bit. Then they used one of his own tools to lever the lock off the next door to get into his main shed where they carefully broke a dozen eggs that he had onto one spot on the floor. They then sat the egg trays neatly back on the shelf. Didn't touch anything else except maybe a tin of screws and nails then left out of the door via his chicken run leaving the chickens access to his shed!

Not your average vandal/thief, truly strange!

He is of course upset and very unsettled by it.

Sounds a bit personal to me Kea,

Poor chap , it must be deverstating to find something like that  --  all you
wan't is a bit of peace and to tend your plot,

As only the chicken eggs were  ' highlighted ', does he keep chickens on his plot ?
--   sounds a daft question,  but someone on the site may be anti chucks !

He should report it to someone,  his committee, the council or police ?

His personal space has been violated  --  not nice !

It is good he has a friend in you who cares,

Well actually I'm a bit worried someone did it because he was one of the people who told me who had taken my manure pile. though what that has to do with eggs I'm not sure. We did discuss both possibilities ...he thought maybe his rooster crowing had annoyed someone.

It did look very personal.
I reported it to the Town clerk for him as he doesn't have email and had forgotten his phone and I went home much earlier than him. I think he should report it to the police as it looks like a threat to me.

He's got a lot of friends on the plot, he'll get lots of support.

Weird things happen sometimes. Last Saturday night someone set the toilet paper in the gents at church on fire; fortunately it did no damage apart from creating a nasty smell. On Monday night, someone climbed over a six-foot fence into the yard behind the church, and set a skip on fire. Nothing of the sort has ever happened to us before. You can guess who had to sort everything out!

There are a couple of people who'd love that to happen. If I do nothing, I get blamed, If they try to tackle a job, and it goes wrong, I get blamed. Trouble is, if they get their claws into something, they never let go, and nobody else gets a look in. We don't want to lose yet more people because of them.
