sweet peas from window sill to greenhouse - when?
« on: March 16, 2009, 09:05:18 »
Hello, I have some sweet peas growing on my kitchen windowsill, they are currently just green stalks about 1cm high, when can I transfer them out to my greenhouse? It is heated with a frost guard but still gets down to 2 or 3 degrees at night. Thank you!!!!!

You can put them in your greenhouse now. They will be better there than on your window sill. They wont get drawn in your greenhouse, which they tend to do on a windowsill.
Cheers .. Jim

long and leggy, stretched by climbing towards the light. Sweet Peas are hardy so you're greenhouse will be fine...  :)

Good advice from saddad....................my first sweet peas this year went all spindly, and I still don't know if I can save them.

I have re-sown, and put them out in the cold frame just as soon as they appeared. They seem to be fine, albeit a little slow. :)
