I am aiming to have our plot fully cultivated without using any weed fabric (except under the pumpkins). I am also hoping for better success with carrots!

To grow more of each vegetable. (except for courgettes) :o Why did I only grow 8 leeks??!!!!! They were tasty though!!
Last year was my first having an allotment and vegetable growing was new to me.

one bonus though, you lift up an edge an reveal all the slugs while you are working there and can scoop them all up or let the birds get them :)

To grow less parsnips... I've still got enough to last till next Christmas, think I over compensated for the dismal failure last year.

Not to go away for the whole six week school holiday only to come home and find all my cabbages looking like dead, needless Christmas trees full of cabbage white caterpillars.

My hope is to be given another 1/2 plot, failing that...plotting vile things against the person responsible for alloting the allotments. ;D ;)

1) I hope we have a nice warm summer, with adequate rain (but only at night)

2) I hope there is a mass emigration of slugs and snails to the park next door.

3) I hope I get around to clearing out my greenhouse which looks more like a shed than my shed does.

4) I hope that all the plotholders on the site get on with each other and a spirit of love and harmony prevails.

Okay, maybe I'll settle for 1 and 3.  :)

With this being our second growing year on the plot we're just hoping to mainly learn from the mistakes of last year... Specifically...

Grow more onions, thought about 100 would have been enough, but nope, almost run out already...

Write down the variety of the spuds we grow so we don't end up stood at the Potato Day next year wondering which were the lovely ones we grew last year.

Get round to sowing the root veg rather than just talking about it.

Grow less courgettes, never again will we grow six plants.

Not go on holiday slap bang in the middle of August

Use black fabric rather than wood chippings for the paths. It may look nice but it's a bugger to keep weed free when it's not thick enough.

Dismantle and re-build the rickety fruit tunnell we inherited with the plot.

Build the 'seating' area complete with bench and flower tubs I promised myself when we took the plot on.

:)

That it doesn't keep raining on my only day off.  That all the plots are rented out to people who give it more than lip service.  And the thieving git from last year breaks a leg if they come on the lottie this year.  ;D ;D
The time and energy to plant and build all on my wish list.  That him indoors gets the gardening bug (OK that might one wish to far).
                     Have a nice day  :) ;) :D ;D

To look after the plants once they're established - and watch out for the caterpillars before they reduce the brassicas to skeletons  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

1) repair my dilapidated greenhouse and USE IT!

2) get a much better fruit crop than last year, with the help of my new fruit cage

3) grow bigger and better leeks and brussels sprouts

4) have enough spuds, onions and garlic to last all year round

P.S. I see I've made it to Hectare.  Amazing!

The weather to be back to normal; i.e.

its cold when you would expect it to be,

its hot when you would expect it to be,

it rains when you want it and

it is sunny when you want it.

Wishful thinking do you think  ??? ::) ::) ::) ::)
