Will swap with you Flossie. I like the sunshine. My friend Mary and I want to try and get our plot ready but the weather is against us. ??? We tend to get good days when I look after our grandson and wet and wild days when I have the time to go digging. I'll ask the snow to come your way as it is stop start here. ;)

Don't worry Gardengirl.  It's stopped now. The sky is very blue.  Still very cold and windy though.

We were forecast for some wild wintry weather today, here in the North East, but nothing extreme so far.  Guess the ground is still a little too soggy, maybe even somewhat frozen, to pick away at the allotment....getting impatient.

Here in Essex we had about 30 flakes this morning - by the time I had run upstairs to tell the other kiddies (no one in our house under 14) the sun had come out and melted the lot

Not sure if we will be getting much here in Dorset - it depends which forecast you read i think!. Just dry dull and very cold here at the moment. essentialy boring TBH.

I quite like snow (when it comes), we have it so rarely these days it is a bit of a treat really. if i am free i like to go out into the ggarden with the camera and take a few photos and generaly marvel at how the snow changes the garden. Unfortunately my appreciation of snow is not enjoyed by the rest of the family. Dad in particular hates the stuff and is like a cat on hot coals when there is any about!

The trouble is that even in the colder parts of the UK, snow comes so infrequently that when it does come we are not used to it. Thats when just a few centimetres can cause havoc, as everyone tries to carry on as normal. Our forebears were much more used to it and knew how to adapt their lives to heavy snows.

So just for those who think what we are about to get is bad, read the info in the following link and it will not seem so bad after all!!
