What's more important length or width?
« on: January 22, 2009, 21:14:10 »
I've been thinking of making my own rootrainers and wondered what would be your ideal size for general use?

The one's i've been messing about with are about 15cm long and a triangular shape with about 2.5cm edges(hope that makes sense).

Would this be ok for general use or would you make it smaller in length but wider?

What's more important length or width? ;D

If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

With 215 reads and only 6 replies I think many thought they were in the Watershed.

In response to the original question though, my other half says its the length that matters and she reckons about 6 inches is fine (which is 15cm) ;)

I find loo roll tubes work well and if you need something longer then kitchen towel rolls are a cheap option.

I agree with the last post loo rolls are a very good rule of thumb and have been using them myself for years now and find them fantastic k for most plants.
