Anyone used this compost?
« on: January 11, 2009, 14:23:23 »
Found this site today- quite close to home but I'd never heard of them. Anyone else tried this compost?

Are you saying you wouldn't buy any peat-free compost, or just not this ine? I've used New Horizon for several years now and find it to be good (it got the best resukts in Which as well).

I like the New Horizon peat free/JI mixture, but had trouble obtaining it last year.
I tried a Wyvales alternative that was supposed to be the same mix but was not impressed.  :-\
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

This looks good, 6- bags on a pallet £2.99 a bag, delivery included but then I noticed that the bags are just 25 litres so not the bargain they appear  :(

I've found Westlands peat-free to be quite good:

I only use Peat Free and that looks like a good range.  It's a Doncaster Company too which makes it pertinent.  Quite local to me but New Horizon is as local as it can possibly get for me so I shall stick with it unless I can't get it- and that looks, at first glance, a good alternative.
