You're all going to be my crutch when Im ready to stop again. Im really proud of all of you......and I feel a huge pang of regret that I needed the thing that I hate the most as my comforter at this time.

You'd all better be there later when I need you guys.............though I don't know when I shall be ready again at the moment.

Nice to see this thread again...gives me the opportunity to boast a bit  :D

Decided a few days ago that I'd have a de-tox til the end of the month...no cigarettes, no alcohol, no salt (thanks Buds - getting used to it),  no carbs after lunchtime, lots of water....(sounds fun, fun, fun, dunnit? ::))

Anyway, it's all going well and I'll review the cigarette situation on the 1st May, but so far, so good,  and surprisingly easy. When I really really fancy a cigarette I use one of those gums. Works well so far..

Detox sounds utter misery to me but all power to your elbow.  I've often wondered why people  detox though. Maybe you could start a new thread if a few people are doing it or thinking of having a go.

Hope you manage to continue after 1st May with 'goodbye tobacco', I'd never believe the difference to ones life it makes.

'tis indeed tonybloke.

I'm still  eating the mint humbugs and munch away on them when driving something frantic at times  ;D  ;D  Couldn't drive without having sweets with me.

I find every night I need to eat sweet things and don't fancy fruit at all, where when I smoked my diet was much better than it is now.  I am pleased though that I have hardly put on any extra weight but that could be to do with I hardly sit still  ;D  ;D  ;D

So pleased the some of you have managed to keep off the cigs. Will soon be May and the rest of you can have a go and with the help of the others you will find it a lot easier to stop. It is difficult I know but with alittle help from your friends you will do it
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

Don,t know how you all do it,I fail after a very short while.Tried after the bypass two years ago but started again,OH smokes, bass player(best mate) missus smokes so sneak out for a ciggy when at the pub with them and it,s starting to be painful playing guitar because chest muscles are knackered with the coughing.Wish I could give up!!  Keep it up all of you.

LOL, there can't be 4 originals  ;D  ;D

So, do you suck or chew them?  I notice just before I shout p*** at  another driver I am chewing/crunching like the clappers.  Apart from the driving I have cut them down by at least 75% which is just as well as Tesco have put them up 20p a packet, even more than the cigarette's went up in the budget.

Do hope we have given others the urge to have a go at giving up.

So, how many do you smoke a day?

Have just seen you live in Wales, so wont be able to pop round ........................ you're safe  ;D  ;D  ;D

Really it comes down to who/what is your biggest friend the guitar or cigarette's.

I know everyone here will give you all the help and support you'll need from afar.
