Grapes
« on: January 01, 2009, 11:13:10 »
Okay one more little question!
Im going to try grapes in the poly tunnel too, we eat a lot in the house!
Can anyone recomend a good variety to go for. They will be in an unheated poly tunnel and will be for eating not wine making. The prefrence is a red/black grape.
So far the most suitable I have found avaiable is Dornfelder.

I've grown Regent outside successfully here in Derby, although It has let me down the last two years... I blame the weather not the variety. I'm sure it would do really well in a poly if you kept it well ventilated in the Autumn.
