I might be able to get you some......not sure yet  ???.

Are you happy for your sticks/poles to take root and grow as well as the cuttings, coz they will. Sure you know that though. ;)

If I forget, please shout up, it might be a couple of weeks before I will find out if I can get hold of some ;)
I was born with nothing and have most of it left.

I've got willow cuttings, some from this 2008 pruning that have been in a bucket of water since Jan 08, but there will be fresh ones available in a few weeks when i prune my living bench back into shape, if you prefer to wait for the fresh ones pm me.

PS i don't know the variety though i got them as whips back in 2007 when i made my bench.

I've been thinking about planting some willows at the bottom of my plot for two reasons - to cut to make supports for runner beans etc and to dry out the soil which is very heavy and was like a marsh all last summer and the one before.

Does the willow dry out the ground, and how fast do they grow?

How much space should I leave between the willows and my beds?  Any advice would be appreciated as this is all new territory for me.

Thanks!

thifasmom,
I would love some willow. I was just looking at it on ebay and decided to wait a while, but if you have spare I would gladly send you the postage and packing costs.
