Topic: Just had a real telling off by a bossy hen!!

My hens associate different members of my family by their role in chicken care.  I am food and water, the children are egg collecting and stroking and my HO is cleaning.

I had to go and collect the eggs this morning as a friend wanted some (hens were already fed).  One of the louder girls was very very angry with me for not throwing in any scraps.  She stool by the fence and really 'shouted' at me then stomped into the hen house and shouted some more.  Just when I thought she had finished she stomped back out again and kept going on at me until I had collected the eggs and returned into the house.

That was one weird experience.

funny, aren't they ? we have a branch running across the fencing so they can perch on it, there's always one on guard duty, stands and shouts when someone comes along  ;D
