A new strawberry bed
« on: August 26, 2004, 19:13:28 »
Is it too late to start a new strawberry bed, i have read some of the other posts but i don`t have a patch already in the making. I wouldn`t be able to start on it till about three weeks time.

No. It`s perfectly o.k. to plant up to the end of September.  Make sure to incorporate as much humus as possible into the bed and firm it gently.  Plant so that the crowns are just above the soil surface, and in the unlikely event of dry weather keep the plants well watered until they are established.
