Hi asbean

I also go to Whitchurch and would love to meet for lunch at a local pub.  Let me know what time you are going and we can maybe meet up.

I can't seem to find any potato type day events in Kent the closest appear to be London :(.

Early this year after i had already ordered mine on-line i saw that my local homebase had for sale, has anyone ever used their stock?

i didn't see any at my local Wilkos though maybe i went there after their stock had run out, does anyone know when they normally start to sell their potato seed stock as i would like to get from them when the stock is nice and fresh.

PS: what about onion sets and garlic bulbs from Wilkos are they any good, has anyone ever used them?

Thifasmom - The potatoes and onions etc usually come into Homebase and the garden centres etc when the Christmas deccies etc are out of the way, and after the early January sale/clear out.  Be patient, there's plenty of time  :) :) :)

I've never used Wilko's garlic but always use their onion sets and been happy with the results.  They're great value - I think last year it was £1 for 100 sets.  Have a good squeeze of the net to make sure you don't get any soft ones!.

What I like about Wilkies is that they will gladly refund your money if you are not satisfied with anything. One year I bought some begonia's from them supposed to be pink. They all turned out to be red. I told them that this had ruined my garden display and I got refund and got to keep the begonias.
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"
