Marrow-tastic

I cannot say how much we are looking forward to inviting people round to dinner to help us eat these lovely marrows. That's one good thing about the deluge of rain we've had.

Thanks Kerry it was kind of by accident as the weather had been so bad we hadn't been down to the lottie for a while :)

looking good- stuffed marrow is a great autumn comfort food. Am sure there's a million different ways, but I brown off some beef mince in some stock, herbs and worcestershire sauce, then spoon into emptied marrows (and marrow flesh pricked all over with fork), top with breadcrumbs and bake covered with foil for about 45-50mins on 180C. 5 mins before end, uncover and add some grated cheese. Recipe also good with pork mince + spicey herbs and chilli.

p.s. anyone know why my pumpkin has a pointy base?! It's never going to stand upright on Halloween!

Thanks Ross that sounds lovely but I'm veggie. We've invited some friends round tomorrow to enjoy the spoils of our labour. Felix is gonna cook  ;D.

Doris: Is your pumpkin that big already?  ::)maybe you should get a fork lift! ;)
