Logging onto th einternet
« on: November 21, 2008, 20:24:56 »
Any offers on this one?

I can get onto the internet no problems, but the other two users on the machine can't.  They are thrown out before it gets to the home page.

Thanks

That sounds a strange one.  my brain does not seem to be focused on internet problems, but will get back to you on this one tomorrow, unless somebody else can help you before hand.

Which version of Windows are you using?

I'm not very good on computers.  I think it's Windows 6.
I'm the account holder, and it doesn't matter if we try at start up or switch user.

On Tuesday, none of us could get in.  On Wednesday I got a message saying there was a problem with an add-on called msxml7l.dl so I disabled it and haven't had a problem since.  I've done  a search and can only find one file on the computer called that.

When we try for anyone else Explorer tries to load, then says "Instrution {code} referenced memory at {code}.  The memory could not be read.

Then it generates an error report to send to Microsoft

Has this only just started or has it always happened?

Try changing their accounts to admin to see if it still happens.

I don't use users accounts, but try logging in as one of theirs and going to Tools-Internet options-Security and make sure it's the same as yours.

no promises, but you have disabled msxml7l.dl in your account (while you were signed in)
if you then change user you will go to their settings, perhaps you could try to disable msxml7l.dl while they are signed in as the user

sorry if thats stupid i know nothing about puters but it seems logical to me

Thank you all for the suggestions.  I reset to factory defaults, and it seems to be working.
