Compost

Simple question (I hope).

Can I put my rabbit's waste into the compost bin? If so, is it just their droppings I can put in, or can I put the hay and sawdust in too?

Thanks,
Jo.

Thanks Manics.

I think I might have to invest in more compost bins then. They're pooping machines  ::)

Didn't know you had chooks Manics.

Do you keep them at home or on the lottie?

I've always wanted chickens since I went and collected eggs as a child in my friend's garden. Unfortunately, our garden isn't big enough for them  :(

they're on the plot, communal ones between us all, 18ex battery, lovely little things..if it was just us, we wouldn't be able to do it but as we share them, there's always someone to look after them  ;D

Best of both worlds then Manics. You're not under pressure to do everything for them, so long as you take your turn, but also get the benefits. Great in my book  :) How often do you get the eggs?

Adam, now you know why they leave the bags out, if what everyone say's is true  ;D I'd have a word with the owners and see if you can get first dibs  ;D

we were getting at least 15 to 17 eggs per day until the cold snap..now it's between 3 and 7 per day, we all take turns having the eggs, 'specially now, everyone's limited to 6 per week  ;D
there are 8 of us who look after them, our eggs are 50p for 6, any over, the rest of the plot holders get first dibs, 1.00 for 6..then they go to the home next door, residents are charged 1.00 for 6..it pays for all the feed, etc  :)

That's a great idea, and you've got it all worked out really well. I'd love to be involved in something similar, but haven't even got a lottie yet  :'(
