Chipotle
« on: September 23, 2008, 08:31:41 »
I'll soon be harvesting a fair amount of jalapenos which are ripe, purple/brown not green anymore. i think i should have picked earlier? Anyone know a shortcut to dry these with the addition of the smoky chipotle flavour. I don't think I'm going to be able to actually smoke them (I mean in a smoker, not smoke them like a phag)

Maybe some sort of contraption made of tin cans connected to your barbecue???

Aren't they a bit too fleshy to dry easily?

doing some research I've discovered a product called liquid smoke which, if I can get hold of some, i can paint on to a dried jalapeno I think. I'll experiment with this and get back...I may be some time
