Carrots

Does anyone know what the earliest that you can set carrots, I am sure someone told me that they put theirs into barrels and cover them with fleece and set them in October.  Of course I could have dreamt that.  Anyone any idea`s please.

Three weeks ago,  I sowed 'Autumn King 2' for a Christmas/winter harvest.  If you sow some under glass in containers now,  you should still get a harvest.

I have got Amsterdam Forcing, although it says that you can set them in Feb, I thought I would try October in a bin under fleece.
