do roses grow from cuttings?
if they do when do i do it?

You can take cuttings in the autumn, and it works, but they do need mollycoddling for a year till they get really established.

Yes they do plus they can be grown from seed also!

They root quite easily from cuttings but they do not live as long as budded ones, one big advantage is you do not get any suckers as there are no briars involved. If you take ripened wood about August time, about 1ft (30) cms ,make a slit in the soil with a spade put some course sand in, then the cutting and firm. They may break into growth early but they Can be growing on the sap within the cutting before they have any roots. It is best to leave then 12 months before moving
