comfrey
« on: September 11, 2008, 20:26:13 »
my plot that i have recently taken over has a big patch of comfrey , approx 10 large plants, i want to keep it all and was thinking of having a bed full of it but about half of it is not where i want the bed to go so i was think of trying to move it.
will it be ok to move now or do i have to wait till it dies off ,i would rather do it now as it's kind of in the way.  ;D

Comfrey is a (useful) thug.  Don't bother moving the whole plants.  Just cut off small portions of root and plant them where you want them.  Put the rest on your compost heap.  If you don't get all the roots out, it will probably keep coming back.

i'll try to dig up the ones that are in the wrong place but i've heard the roots go very deep.
