When to lift onions?
«

We have had very heavy rain in LIverpool for the last few days. Not all of my onion necks have fallen over yet. Should I pull them all up and dry in the shed? I am going on holiday on Tuesday.

Seems like the UK is in for quite a bit more rain yet. If you're off on your hol's, you might be better off lifting and getting them under cover. I usually dangle the leaves through a stretch of wire netting to keep them seperated.

I agee with the others. Get them up and start to dry them off as they are not likely to grow any more this year and much more rain and they will start to rot.
Have a good holiday.

I lifted mine last week and this is how I dry them;
In a few weeks I will 'dress' (clean) them and tie them up similar to this;
