My runners
« on: August 14, 2008, 18:55:01 »
ok here my 2 runner ducks. They are 2 years old, already been parents this year.(befor i got them) they have settled in very well. been enjoying the rain today.(plenty of it) i decided i would get some ducks, as i love the fresh duck eggs from the shop.  ;D

They look happy all the time, cause of their beak/bil.

The drake is the full white one. The mottled white is the female.

Our new Park Ranger has just moved into the house in our park and brought with him various geese and ducks and has some of these Runner Ducks (didn't know that is what they were called).  He has some light brown coloured ones.  They are cute though.  Apparently we have rabbits and a pot bellied pig to come yet.  He and his wife rescue various animals apparently. He is looking to extend into the under-used car park and have an area where the children can come and see and pet some of the animals.

Yeah i will be, they have already had a batch of ducklings this year.(befor i got them) as soon as a few eggs come i will be putting them in the incubator. then next year i will let her hatch her own. because i dont think she will settle for a while. so i will do the job for her till then.

i think they are called runners as they are upright and always dashing around. not sure i will have to look on the net.
