 :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

************** JUST HAD TO SHARE THIS WITH EVERYBODY       ******************

I have success
I have plants

I HAVE VEGETABLES!!!!

Able to dig enough potatoes for a couple of meals
Carrots for one
french beans
runner beans.

Absolutely lovely.

Returning tomorrow to see what else I can harvest.   According to the parents I'm like a kid at Xmas, but I don't care.

So thrilled for you. It's my second year and I just cannot get over the idea that if I put in this teeny seed a carrot (or whatever) comes up. Aren't seeds brill?

Well done CC. Every morning we go and check on our "crops" to see what can be picked, it's as exciting as an easter egg hunt every morning, the feeling never wears off.  :)

Not forgotten the pic's.   I just haven't got the hang of uploading them onto the site.   I've printed off the detailed instructions but still can't seem to get it to work.

It's a bit sad really.   I deal with the electricity network upto and including 11000 volts but get beaten by a couple of million pixels.

Will keep trying with the pics, even if it's six months.

.........still harvesting & now the sweetcorn has joined in.   Some of my plants have got four cobs each, it's brill.

Went down to the plot last night & picked four pounds of runners & four pounds of dwarf french.   Two spud roots yielded three and half pounds lovely new potatoes.

In my back yard the strawbs in the old jam pans are still fruiting.   Had a handful of fresh strawbs with my breakfast this morning & I've still got some developing.

The toms in their hanging baskets are coming along nicely, rather small but plentiful.   Just waiting for them to ripen.

Am having so much success (& the onions, snips & carrots to come yet) that have decided to buy a small chest freezer to preserve the excess.

Christmas keeps coming every couple of days!!!!!

Dear CC,

I know what you mean, as it's also my first harvest too!! ;D

Have been to lottie today and picked broad beans - noticed mice have enjoyed the harvest also :-\

Have also had reasonable success with strawbs and they have produced loads of runners which I shall pot up and sever when they've rooted..

carrots and parsnips are growing in a raised bed - haven't lifted them yet as foliage is still growing and I'm glad to say the parsnips did not mind being pulled out by my 7yr old as I quickly re-planted them after her "helping Mum to do some weeding" escapade ;D

pulled good crop of rhubarb from established plant

plenty of potatoes,

plum tomatoes and gardeners delight are romping away but need some sun to ripen them 8)

broccoli was ok but did not produce tight florets - does anyone know why that is ???

Trust me, get as big as you can fit! We have 2 fridge freezer uprights and just bought chest freezer that is
20"x31"x31" and it is full already!
Thought it would be plenty and still got loads to pick freeze pickle etc... have fun, our 1st full year is going great. :D
