coffee morning
« on: August 10, 2008, 18:50:21 »
We are having a coffee morning on Saturday at Court Lane allotments in Erdington. We hope to raise awareness among the community about allotments and the benefits they can bring to the area and also to raise some funds to go towards making the site more secure. I know that there aren't many of you that live in the area but if any of you do come you will be sure of a warm welcome. You can also sample my courgette soup. lol. There will be lots of home made cakes as well.
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

Will do Shirl 8) I'll bring some of those freebie ALDI trays too for you, but won't be putting the black gold in them - it'd fall through the holes - and that would be silly, wouldn't it?  ;D

Well folks the coffee morning went really well. All my courgette soup went (thank goodness) and all the home made cakes were woofed up. In all we made around £200 to go towards our allotment security fund. We are planning to do it again very soon so if anyone has any ideas that we could use to increase our funds please feel free to advise. BTW it stayed dry and we even got some sunshine to boot.

Yes, after all the predictions, the weather actually behaved itself today! Well done on raising that amount for your security fund, that's brilliant - now lets see some pics of you in your night vision goggles and your new AK47!
