Hi,
Two years ago we had an allotment in Kendal, The Lake District and failed miserably in growing Sweet Potatoes.  We now live in Scotland and I'm not going to even try growing them.
Incidently Sweet Potatoes are great mashed and served with a good Chilli Con Carne.
