sulphur candles
(1/1)
jock_edin:
I've spent a while trying to light a candle in my greenhouse. Every time I thought I had got it started it went out. I don't think I have a problem with draughts blowing it out but after several tries I gave up.
Anybody out there got any ideas and do you think they're a good idea for clearing greenhouse?
tim:
They can be b.....rs, can't they? Like nicotine shreds that we used to use. But we've never not got them to light in the end. Even to the extent of a new wick?
If you've been REALLY patient, complain.
Oh, and yes! But we also wash down with Armillatox. But that doesn't mean that that's the right approach! = Tim
RSJK:
l used to use armillatox for the control of vine weevil in my fuchsias, but Tim am l not right in saying this is now a substance we cannot use due to some mad EEC directive.
tim:
Don't quote me but- yes, they are not allowed to say it's an insecticide/fungicide, or such, but it is now a 'patio cleaner' - along with Jeyes Fluid - and all the things we have held dear! What next?? = Tim
Palustris:
And I have to add that a lot of the stuff removed from the market was either dangerous or not sold in sufficient quantity to be worth the manufacturer applying for a very expensive licence to continue selling it and or was available under a different name.
