second show of the season
« on: July 27, 2008, 08:28:54 »
I entered the show in a town about ten miles away. The show the biggest in the area, 542 classes. I entered six classes, but the entry form had to be in tuesday evening. So had to take a few gambles.
I entered five cherry tomatoes, but the crop is slow this year, when I went to pick them only four were good enough to show. so one down.
Entered, outdoor flowers, one kind, I put in six Rudbeckia, nothing.
entered, currants red 10 strigs, second prize
entered, raspberries plate 100g, second prize.
entered, dish of fruit, one kind, I put in loganberries, second prize
entered collection of fruits, three kinds. I put in redcurrants, whitecurrants and loganberries. first prize and the blue ribbon for the best exhibit in the fruit section. Not a bad day, cost £1.50 to enter and my winnings £2.80
