well i got my phone call - you know the story - gutted as i was looking forward to getting a shed onto my plot - o well. at least im getting £10 in vouchers - they will go to good use

I haven't had a phone call from them yet, nor a confirmation of the order, but they took my money on 28th July and haven't credited it back again yet.

I sent them a nice email, he best I can hope for is a £10 voucher and my money back. I'm going to get one from B&Q now in any case, but it was worth the try.

Nice one - just had an email from Homebase: they are refunding my money and sending me a £10 voucher, so I can buy my shed elsewhere.

Nice easy way to get £10 off ymnext purchase there.

Well I finally got the long awaited and dreaded call, no shed but £10 voucher
apparently there were approx 4500 ordered last weeekend, so at £10 each a whopping £45,000 typing error, it was the supplier who picked up the problem, as homebase normally sell about 3000 shed per annum!! alarm bells rang and the rest as they say is history.

I am so dissapointed for myself and all you lovely people who had ordered shed, I again appologise on my part for all the dissapointment, but a least most of us are £10.00 better off

Why the apology? No need for apology or embarrassment, we all knew it was a mis print and we all got £10 out of doing very little. Of course we would have preferrred a shed but we knew what we were getting in to.

Exactly, RBT. I really didn't expect to get the shed, but it was def worth the try. The £10 voucher is a bonus (or will be when it arrives). However, they must be counting the cost. It would probably have cost them less to sell those sheds at that price (I bet a lot of people bought other things as well) than the admin cost of refunding and sending (by post) 4,500 vouchers at £10 each. The markup on the sheds must be pretty high and the lost profit a drop in the ocean. And add to that the increased numbers of visitors to the site who didn't buy, but just looked to check and then went on to buy other items - Good publicity stunt, I'd say.

And don't apologise, Lolabelle - there's no need. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Quite shocked that they can get away with this. I have always believed that if something was advertised at a price they had to sell it at that price.

nope online its easier to make mistakes i remember a couple of years ago one of the big online retailers were selling big screen tvs for £10 as the price was miss entered. One of the guys bought 10 and took them to court when they refunded the order and he lost in court.

Definitely no need to apologise! As otehrs have said, we all knew it was a pricing error, and homebase display their policy on the web quite clearly. They've now decided to give me the £10 voucher after all, so to be honest it's been a win, win situation!

Blimey, you couldn't make it up - Got a second phone call from Homebase today apologising and offering a £10 voucher - at this rate I'll soon have enough vouchers for a free shed!

got my £10 voucher, better than a slap in the face with a wet fish. luckly it was my birthday this month so will be getting a hut off my birthday money.
thanks lolabelle and definately no reason to appologise - you were doing us all a good turn not your fault they got it wrong (costly error for them at that lol) at least i get to spend £10 and it wont cost me a bean lol
