Attended the meeting last night, couldn't quite believe what happened. I can't say I have never seen anything like it because I was at the last fiasco at the race course.  How did they manage to push the treasurer through?  It was obviously prearranged as they knew the lady did not want this post in advance and hadn't publicised the position to get nominees.  They had no right to put somebody in there and then, they should have had another meeting and put it on the agenda for a democratic vote.

I was also disgusted at the way the young lady from Cobholm was treated by the meeting's Chairman.  After waiting patiently to make her point he rudely ignored her and started speaking to someone on the other side of the room.  When she approached the platform, understandably annoyed at his reaction, he proceeded to shout at her.

I'm on my soapbox now.

So why are we giving someone £1000 !!!!!!!!. I should be so lucky.  What happened to the days of retirement clocks, or even a new spade.  The people in Cobholm haven't even got a water pipe and we're giving away £1000, I hasten to add my allotment is not in Cobholm.

Despite all that Congratulations Tony, it's time to do your stuff!

Hi
I'm on Long Lane ** whispers **

I couldn't attend the meeting, as I thought it was in Gt Yarmouth, and I was at a function in Gorleston at the time.
Tony says it was, um, an experience.

I had an allotment in Lowestoft for several years. Our site rep was very good, and meetings were always properly run with Agendas, Timed questions (so people don't go off topic) etc.

Personally, I don't want to get involved with site politics at the moment ... not enough time or energy. Maybe next year, after I've dug out all me blummin brambles.
