Mg deficiency or mosaic virus?
« on: July 02, 2008, 20:48:28 »
My romanesco toms arenot happy. The lower leaves are going yellow between the veins. Went out tonight to spray with epsom salts and find the leaves are curling badly. Does this mean it's mosaic virus, and if so will it spread to my peppers, cukes or aubergines in the same greenhouse?  ???

A picture would be of some help Caroline.
Magnesium deficiency usually starts on the lower leaves and works upwards and all the leaves turns yellow. With mosaic it is blotchy
Not all curling of leaves are bad depending on the way they curl and which leaves they are are.
I would suggest you Google Tomato Leaf Roll images.

More symptoms- the central leaf vein is raised and hard. The rolling and blotching is at the bottom of the plant but moving up, I think. Can I ask again, will this spread to peppers, cukes and aubergines?

Mosaic virus will yes,  if you are convinced it is Mosaic Virus then you need to remove and destroy them.   Mag Deficiency wont spread to other plants
