Topic: Courgettes are poorly

My courgettes are not looking too healthy at the moment. Two of the plants - both Sungold -  have got yellow leaves, which I assume is the result of some sort of deficiency. The only question is, what? And what to do about it?
The other two - Verde di Italia, from Real Seeds - have got a white-ish pattern on the leaves which I think might be some kind of mildew. It does not look too serious, but on the other hand it clearly isn't right. Should I something about it?

I've only been growing courgettes 2 years and both years I got the white Mildew on the leaves and they still did really well.  2 years and not failed to get courgettes in large quantities from just 2 plants.

I usually end up getting sick of courgettes so they usually end the season with a big marrow on each one. :D

Not sure what the yellowing of the leaves is.  Is it the lower leaves or upper as well?

Mine sulk too but seem to pick up later and get productive.

Mine are like it too, i planted them in a hole filled with manure as usual, so dont think its a deficiency.

I suspect its the weather - except for the odd day its not been that warm (especially at night) since i planted them out, and very windy. My toms look the same...

I would leave them in and add some more  manure around the plant.  Ensure it is not dry.

I planted mine out late this year. They have been very slow to get going, are small and look anaemic too!

All my squashes are the same too. They are in a new plot - so I don't know if was a good place to plant them.

Looking round the allotment, I can only find one plot with decent courgettes!

Iv got about another 18 squashes just germinated.I plan to plant these adjacent to the ones mentioned above- Do you think it will be too late for them?

I got my first few courgettes today....



Not the biggest in the world but my sister (I only grow them for her) will love them, they are called golden and for some reason seem to do much better than any other type.

The white (Silvery) patches on the leaves are completely natural,It's just the normal patternation of the leaves if it looks a bit like a leopard skin pattern .

The yellowing is just likely being too wet or a bit cold  (less than 10c at night).

Once it eventually warms up they should be OK. ;D

I agree with Mick,the yellow varieties have always gave me excellent results.
The green are small,small,small,taste OK though :)
