Not sure if this is the correct place to post, so apologies. When i planted my bean seeds earlier this year some of them failed miserably, however i notice the ones that failed, the compost had turned green! is this normal?

our compost goes green if it gets too damp, not sure if that's why though :)

sounds like you might have a drainage problem and the plants rotted - might need a good dig over and incorporate some quality compost or manure at some point

Green does imply that there is algae forming from too much moisture.
Beans are usually thirsty but will rot if there is too much wet too soon.
